Decentralized incentives for general well-being in networked public goods game

چکیده
Prosocial incentives are recognized as effective tools to promote public cooperation. But their usage is costly, hence we need find an optimal policy that offers the best outcome for a minimal cost. This problem has attracted extensive attention of scholars from many fields, and it been studied intensively in well-mixed populations. Yet, system behavior case group interactions where decentralized involved rather unexplored. To fill this gap, consider possible consequences rewarding punishing spatially arranged population players play goods game with neighbors. Importantly, both time-independent dynamically varying cases checked. With help pair approximation approach, derive dynamical equations under weak selection obtain theoretical conditions minimally requested amounts expected outcome. By using control theory, also devise index function quantify executing costs protocols. In addition, numerical calculations Monte Carlo simulations support scheme requires lower cumulative cost than alternative if initial cooperation level below threshold value. Otherwise, punishment more efficient.

Reconstructing direct and indirect interactions in networked public goods game
Network reconstruction is a fundamental problem for understanding many complex systems with unknown interaction structures. In many complex systems, there are indirect interactions between two individuals without immediate connection but with common neighbors. Despite recent advances in network reconstruction, we continue to lack an approach for reconstructing complex networks with indirect int...
متن کاملThe Networked Common Goods Game
We introduce a new class of games called the networked common goods game (NCGG), which generalizes the well-known common goods game [12]. We focus on a fairly general subclass of the game where each agent’s utility functions are the same across all goods the agent is entitled to and satisfy certain natural properties (diminishing return and smoothness). We give a comprehensive set of technical ...
متن کاملThe dynamics of human behavior in the public goods game with institutional incentives
The empirical research on the public goods game (PGG) indicates that both institutional rewards and institutional punishment can curb free-riding and that the punishment effect is stronger than the reward effect. Self-regarding models that are based on Nash equilibrium (NE) strategies or evolutionary game dynamics correctly predict which incentives are best at promoting cooperation, but individ...
متن کاملCooperation and Contagion in Networked Public Goods Experiments
A longstanding idea in the literature on human cooperation is that cooperation should be reinforced when conditional cooperators are more likely to interact. In the context of social networks, this idea implies that cooperation should fare better in highly clustered networks such as cliques than in networks with low clustering such as random networks. To test this hypothesis, we conducted a ser...

The competitive environment around most businesses and companies is changing with accelerating speed. For example, competition is becoming world-wide, new products are developed faster, new producing technologies are emerging, and new delivery channels are available. Organizations are in the midst of whole new challenges and are seeking for better competitive position and productivity. There is...
